Keshava Seva Samithi

Keshava Seva Samithi is a charitable trust that began its journey in 1999. Since then, it has worked hard to improve the lives of families living in slums, especially focusing on the well-being of children. Step by step, the organization has touched thousands of lives through education, health care, women’s empowerment, and more.

Main Areas of Work

1. Education

Keshava Seva Samithi places a strong focus on education. First, it runs classrooms for children under the age of 13. Then, for older students, it provides scholarships to help them complete school, college, and even professional courses like engineering.

In addition, the trust operates free after-school tuition centers called “Abhyasika”, and it has set up schools such as “Madhava Vidyalayam” in slum areas. In tribal villages, it supports Single Teacher Schools so children in remote areas don’t miss out on learning.

Moreover, it distributes school kits and learning materials and even runs a mobile library to make books accessible.

2. Child Care

To support orphans and abandoned children, the organization runs “Vatsalya Sindhu”, a home for boys. Here, the children receive food, shelter, education, and a warm, caring environment.

3. Women’s Empowerment

The Samithi also believes in empowering women. It offers tailoring classes to help women earn a living. It also runs life skills workshops for teenage girls, helping them grow in confidence and self-reliance.

4. Health Care

The trust organizes free or low-cost health camps that cover general health, dental care, eye check-ups, child and women’s health, and even surgeries. It also runs free dispensaries in slums, arranges eye surgeries, and distributes free spectacles. Furthermore, it promotes healthy living by offering Yoga and Pranayama sessions.

5. Cultural Growth

To build creativity and confidence in children, the organization regularly holds cultural programs and activities.

6. Other Social Work

Keshava Seva Samithi also reaches out to leprosy colonies, offering care and support. Additionally, it holds summer camps where children learn about hygiene, values, and life skills.

Key Achievements

Education

• Helped about 2,900 tribal children in Khammam district start school and continue their studies.

• Over 30,000 children received tuition support and learning materials in the past 10 years.

• Enabled more than 250 slum children to pursue higher education.

• Many of these students completed professional degrees and found good jobs.

Orphan Care

• Around 124 orphaned boys found shelter, education, and guidance through Vatsalya Sindhu over the last 25 years.

• Most of them are now well-settled and living stable lives.

Women’s Empowerment

• Around 500 women gained employment through the tailoring programs.

• Nearly 180 young women received training through special skills development initiatives.
